Albert Cormier, 86, of Foyer St. Thomas, St. Joseph, and formerly of Memramcook East, died Wednesday (19 juin) at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, after a sudden illness.
Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Napoléon and Lucie (Breau) Cormier. He was a retired carpenter and attended Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Memramcook East.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Arthur Landry (Irène) of Memramcook, Mrs. Roger Caissie (Carmella) of Cocagne, Mrs. Normand Gallant (Rosia) of Moncton, and Mrs. Paul Gaudet (Hectorine) of Memramcook West; two sons, Alyre and Léonard, both of Memramcook East; two brothers, Emile of Memramcook East and Eric of Belliveau Village; a half-sister, Mrs. Francis Belliveau (Marie) of Memramcook East; a half-brother, Camille Gaudet of Memramcook East; 23 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Bella Melanson, in 1975; a daughter, Mary; a half-sister, Rita; and a brother, Henri.
The body is at Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Church. Internment will be in the parish cemetery.
